Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or placing an order through this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or submit an order. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use of the website following publication of changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
2. Products and descriptions
We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, firing ranges and prices are accurate at the time of publication. Clay is a natural material; shrinkage rates, colour and texture vary between batches, and fired results depend on your kiln, application and firing schedule. Cone ratings and dimensions are given as a guide.
Hand-thrown Studio Pieces are individually made: small variations in size, weight, glaze pooling and surface are inherent to handmade ceramics and are not defects. Photographs are representative of the form and finish; the piece you receive will vary in detail.
We reserve the right to discontinue, replace or reformulate any product at any time without prior notice. If a product you have ordered becomes unavailable after payment, we will contact you to arrange a substitute or full refund.
3. Pricing and payment
All prices are displayed in Euros (€) and include applicable VAT where required by law. Prices are subject to change without notice, but price changes will not affect orders already confirmed. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on destination and order weight — note that clay, kilns and wheels are heavy and may attract higher carriage.
Free standard shipping applies to orders with a product subtotal of €40 or more, before the application of discount codes or gift vouchers, and may exclude oversized items such as wheels and kilns. Payment is processed at the time of order placement. We accept major credit and debit cards. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers; we do not store card details.
4. Order confirmation and cancellation
An order confirmation email constitutes acknowledgement of your order, not acceptance of a contract. We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion, including for reasons of pricing error, fraud suspicion or product unavailability, with full refund.
You may cancel an order without charge provided you notify us before it has been dispatched. Made-to-order or specially configured items (for example, kilns built to a specified power supply) may not be cancellable once production or configuration has begun; we will tell you if this applies to your order.
5. Delivery and shipping
We aim to dispatch in-stock orders within two working days. Delivery times depend on destination and carrier; estimated transit times are provided at checkout and are not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs, weather or other events outside our control.
Risk of loss and title to products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. Fragile items — bisque ware, finished ceramics, kiln shelves and glazes — are packed with care, but please inspect deliveries on arrival. If a package arrives damaged or is lost in transit, contact us at hello@grivelle.com; we will work with the carrier to repair, replace or refund at our discretion.
We currently ship to: all EU member states, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Norway and Iceland. For other destinations, please contact us directly. Some products — notably kilns, wheels and certain glaze materials classed as hazardous for transport — may have restricted shipping destinations or require freight delivery.
6. Returns and refunds
Unopened clay, glazes and tools may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a full product refund (excluding outbound shipping), provided they are in original, resalable condition. For health and safety reasons, opened bags of clay or glaze and used tools cannot be returned unless faulty.
Equipment such as wheels and kilns may be returned within 30 days of delivery if unused and in original packaging for a full product refund, excluding shipping costs in both directions, which can be substantial for heavy or freight items. Defective or damaged items will be repaired, replaced or refunded in full, including shipping, on receipt of photographic evidence of the defect or damage.
Hand-thrown Studio Pieces may be returned within 14 days if undamaged; please note that natural variation in handmade ceramics is not grounds for return. To initiate a return, contact hello@grivelle.com with your order number and reason. Do not return any item without first receiving a return authorisation from us.
7. Use of equipment and materials
Kilns, wheels and glaze materials must be installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable safety regulations. Kilns require appropriate electrical supply, a non-combustible base, clearances and ventilation; it is your responsibility to ensure your installation is safe and compliant. Some glazes and raw materials are not food-safe or contain substances hazardous if mishandled — always follow the product guidance. We accept no liability for injury, damage or loss arising from improper installation or use.
8. Intellectual property
